CANARY ISLANDS

The volcanic Canary Islands are an archipelago of eight major islands situated in the Atlantic, off the coast of West Africa, but forming part of Spain. With a flying time of 4-hours from the UK, they offer year-round sunshine and the best dolphin and whale watching in Europe.

Gran Canaria is know for its white sandy beaches, sand dunes, golf courses & rugged mountainous interior, ideal for hiking. Lanzarote is less developed and favoured by families, with peaceful villages and a calm easy pace. Small La Gomera is even less visited and offers a quiet and authentic Canaries experience. Tenerife is the largest & most developed island in the archipelago, with the most facilities., whilst Fuerteventura has some of the best beaches and is popular for windsurfing and kite surfing. Cone-shaped La Palma is one of the quieter islands with a rural feel, ideal for walking in magnificent volcanic scenery, or simply relaxing on a secluded black-sand beach.

BALEARIC ISLANDS

Holidays to the Balearic Islands will introduce you to an archipelago of stunning sun soaked islands situated in the Mediterranean Sea, off the east coast of Spain. The four largest islands are Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. With wonderful scenery and jaw-dropping beaches, they are easily accessible on a 2 hour flight from the UK.

Mallorca (or Majorca) is the largest island, known for its scenic coastline and Serra de Tramuntana Mountains to the north. The capital of Palma has a beautiful Gothic cathedral with an altar canopy designed by Gaudí, and the imposing Royal Palace of La Almudaina. Once you have explored the city, hire a car and head north to discover the island’s traditional Spanish villages and scenic coastline. Menorca is much smaller and quieter, whilst Ibiza has the reputation of being a ‘party island’.
