Tenerife Music Festival Concerts
Escape from the rigours of the British winter for a week of music-making in the sub-tropical Canary Islands and visit Tenerife for this music festival, staying at the splendid 5* Hotel Botanico surrounded by lush gardens in Puerto del la Cruz. Mass tourism is confined to an area far away from where you will be staying, and the tour will show you the island’s unspoilt volcanic landscape, well-preserved colonial villages and lush gardens.

SAMPLE ITINERARY
In addition to our programme of concerts at the Hotel Botanico, there will be three included excursions taking in the best of the island’s unspoilt north coast. You will visit the Sitio Litro Orchid Garden in Puerto de la Cruz, with its wonderful collection of more than three hundred varieties. There will be a morning excursion to the Anglican Church in Puerto de la Cruz, where the tour leader Christopher Monckton will give an organ recital. You will also drive along the spectacular north coast route to Masca, a tiny village clinging to a steep ravine, and to Garachico with its 17th-century Franciscan convent. There will also be some free time to make visits on your own: La Orotava is a picturesque small town nearby and Tenerife’s Botanical Garden is located opposite the hotel. You may also wish to visit Mount Teide National Park, which offers spectacular views of the island from its peak at 3,718 metres.
Members of Ensemble 360, with guest Simon Rowland-Jones, will present six varied programmes including a number of works by Spanish composers including Turina, Albeniz, de Falla, the virtuoso violinist Pablo Sarasate and Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga (1806-1826). In addition to the concerts given by Ensemble 360, there is hope to offer an optional excursion to a concert at the Auditorio Calatrava in Santa Cruz being given as part of the annual Canary Islands Music Festival.
